Don't Miss This - The Gospel of John

Don't Miss This LogoAfter many years of teaching and preaching about all the things he witnessed as he traveled with Jesus, John writes a book. He tells us why he wrote this book in John 20:31 where he says, "But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name." The problem, as John well knew from years of experience, was that not everyone did believe. Many heard about Jesus and didn't care or outright rejected him.

In this book we hear the pleading heart of the apostle John as he cries out, "Don't Miss This!" Don't miss the light that came into the world (John 1:9-10). Don't miss the Word that became flesh (John 1:14). Don't miss the one whom John the Baptist testified about (John 1:19-34). Don't miss the true temple of God (John 2:19). Don't miss the savior sent by God who gives eternal life (John 3:12-16). Don't miss the fountain of the water of life (John 4:13-14). And the list goes on and on...

But today we still miss who Jesus is. We still want to change who he is to fit who we want him to be. We still need to hear the powerful plea about Jesus - Don't Miss This!
